Cost Rica Flag Independence Struggle
Independence Struggle Costa Rica. Costa Rica took his first flag in use in 1821. This consisted of three horizontal stripes in the colors blue, yellow and blue. The blue represents the oceans, the yellow for the 'golden' America. The flag was in September 1821 in use by the opponents joining the First Mexican Empire and remained in use until May 1822. Between 10 May and 6 June 182 this flag was also used. On the later date, Cost Rica was independent of the Mexican Empire, which it officially belonged to since 1821. In obtaining the independence a new flag was adopted, which showed a red five-pointed star on a white field.
