Flag of Cost Rica 2012 was first adopted in 1906. On 21 October 1964 however a small change was made to the national weapon: the number of stars was increased from six to seven. Through this minor upgrade to the weapon of the Cost Rica service flag and Costa Rica war flag also changed.
