Flag Cost Rica First Adopted In 1906. The flag of Costa Rica was adopted on 27 November 1906 and consists of five horizontal stripes in the colors (from top), blue, white, red, white and blue. In the service-and war flag is the coat of arms of Costa Rica in a white oval on the red track, which is lacking in the civil flag.
