Cost Rica Flag Revised 1848-1906. The coat of arms of Cost Rica Flag was also revised in 1848 and placed in the center of the flag. In 1906, when the coat of arms was modified, the update was placed in a white disk on the flag's red stripe, and later on an oval, set toward the hoist.
The coat of arms depicts the isthmus between the Pacific ocean and the Caribbean Sea, with 3 volcanoes. The 7 stars stand for the 7 provinces of Costa Rica. The Spanish name of the country is placed on a white banner, Republica de Costa Rica (Republic of Costa Rica), and the Central American union is recognized in the blue upper scroll, recalling the former United Provinces of Central America.

"Noble patria tu hermosa bandera".

Noble patria tu hermosa bandera:

Expresión de tu vida nos da:
Bajo el límpido azul de tu cielo
Blanca y pura descansa la paz.
En la lucha tenaz de fecunda labor
Que enrojece del hombre la faz,
Conquistaron tus hijos, labriegos sencillos,
Eterno prestigio, estima y honor,
eterno prestigio, estima y honor.
¡Salve oh tierra gentil!
¡Salve oh madre de amor!
Cuando alguno pretenda tu gloria manchar,
Verás a tu pueblo, valiente y viril
La tosca herramienta en arma trocar.
¡Salve patria! tu pródigo suelo
Dulce abrigo y sustento nos da;
Bajo el límpido azul de tu cielo
¡Vivan siempre el trabajo y la paz!

Google Translation Costa Rican National Anthem
"Noble homeland, your beautiful flag"

Expression of us your life:
Under the clear blue of your sky
White and pure peace.
In the tenacious battle of fruitful toil
That man's face reddened,
Your sons, simple farm hands,
Eternal renown, esteem and honor,
eternal renown, esteem and honor.
Hail, gentle earth!
Hail, mother of love!
If anyone should attempt to besmirch your glory,
You will see your people, valiant and virile
The trocar rustic tools for weapons.
Hail Motherland! Your prodigal soil
Sweet sustenance and shelter gives us;
Under the clear blue of your sky
Ever live work and peace!
